Project Lifesaver International (PLI) was founded to help locate and track people who may have a tendency to wander, become confused or suffer memory disorders such as dementia. Those enrolled in Project Lifesaver wear a small personal transmitter around the wrist or ankle that emits an individualized tracking signal. If an enrolled client goes missing, the caregiver notifies their local Project Lifesaver agency, and a trained emergency team responds to the wanderer’s area. Escambia Search and Rescue has members who are trained Electronic Search Specialists and Electronic Search Specialist Instructors, certified by Project Lifesaver International. Contact ESAR for more information about this program, for membership or for a demonstration.
